School of Resistance Aesthetics of Resistance - Part I
Watch the recording of the discussion here
Each activists and artists in their own way, Édouard Louis, Geoffroy de Lagasnerie and Milo Rau discuss the possibilities and internal contradictions of politically committed art in three short podcasts. What role do documentation and truth play in the face of a boundless concept of art?Is art conceivable as a hermetic space - or deeply enmeshed in social events? What can art contribute to strategies of resistance?
In their first conversation, they problematised the contradictions of the bourgeois regime of representation and distributory logic of the artistic field. A transcript of their conversation will be published with “L’Arche” as a book and constitute the starting point of a staging by Milo Rau together with Édouard Louis.
