Grace spare not and spare no labour
10 Years of KUNSTWELTEN
in Bitterfeld-Wolfen
For ten years, KUNSTWELTEN, the Akademie der Künste’s education programme, has been holding events in Bitterfeld-Wolfen. Seventy-seven Akademie der Künste members and fellows – including Michael Bräuer, Volker Braun, Christoph Hein, Dieter Hildebrandt, Georg Katzer, Ulrich Matthes, Jeanine Meerapfel, Rosa von Praunheim, Monika Rinck, Kathrin Röggla, Friedrich Schenker, Klaus Staeck, Donata Valentien, Andres Veiel, Michael Verhoeven – have met hundreds of pupils at a range of schools. They have presented their work to these young people, and invited them to try out for themselves writing, photography, sketching, improvising, dancing, designing sound installations, collages, postcards, and posters, producing radio plays, documentary and animation films, and planning city districts and parks – and in the process, explore and discover new things and experience the joy of working intensively with the arts. KUNSTWELTEN is very popular with pupils, parents and teachers, and has found many committed partners in the city and the rural district.
On show are documentary photos of many encounters between artists and pupils, results from film and photo workshops as well as models and plans from architecture workshops including the “Future Workshop Wolfen 2016”.
