Directors of the Film and Media Arts Section of the Akademie der Künste newly elected
In its General Assembly last weekend (8–10 November) in Berlin, the members of the Akademie der Künste elected Helke Misselwitz as the new Director of the Film and Media Arts Section and Peter Badel as the Section’s new Deputy Director.
The Section had postponed the election in May. All other Sections filled their positions in the Senate in the spring general assembly (see press release of 25 May 2024: press release).
Film director Helke Misselwitz had been Deputy Director of the section since 2018 and now succeeds Thomas Heise, who passed away in late May of this year. Cameraman Peter Badel is a new addition to the Senate of the Akademie der Künste.
More information about Helke Misselwitz is available here.
