Electroacoustic Music, Performances and Sound Art at the NODES Festival

The NODES festival, presented by the Akademie der Künste, is a dense programme featuring electroacoustic music, performances and sound art, with a focus on the diversity of the Berlin scene. NODES has been devised and organised by the Studio for Electroacoustic Music at the Akademie der Künste.
The Berlin Loudspeaker Orchestra, instituted by the University of the Arts and the Hanns Eisler School of Music, will present pieces on up to 24 different loudspeakers. In honour of Folkmar Hein’s eightieth birthday, DEGEM (the German Society for Electroacoustic Music) is performing a selection of works commissioned and produced by the former head of the legendary studio at the Technische Universität Berlin. Two previous fellows, Viola Yip and Katharina Zimmerhackl, play pieces they produced in the Studio for Electroacoustic Music; Manfred Miersch and visual artist Kalma work with historical and new subharmonic sounds; and Stefan Streich presents his concertante multimedia installation Vier Celli for the first time, twenty years after he originally came up with the idea for it. On 2 June, Radio Industry will be broadcasting live from the studio foyer.

Radio cooperation: Radio Industry
Stream of unconsciousness – Transmitter Radiotag
“Transmitter ⁄ Radio Industry – Festival für Kunst + Gegenwart” is running in 2024 as a decentralised festival with flexible formats playing at a range of venues. The Studio for Electroacoustic Music at the Akademie der Künste will be turned into a transmitter on 2 June. Musicians and artists will perform and broadcast a day of non-stop sound/text collages. With Kurt Dahlke aka Pyrolator, Sascha Bachmann aka HAND, Mara Genschel, Jacob Stoy, Jana Debrodt, Manfred Machlitt, Ines Burdow, Grischa Lichtenberger, and others.
