Vita
Juta Pranulytė explores the vocality and physicality of sound, developing work in these directions, whether it be documentary music (speech), work with acoustic feedback systems, choral pieces incorporating formant analysis or music theatre works. Previous compositions have been premiered by the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Nice, the Apartment House ensemble, and Les Métaboles choir in venues such as the Deutsche Oper Berlin (as the winner of the NEUE SZENEN VI composition competition) and Wigmore Hall in London.
Residency
During my residency in Berlin, I will continue to explore the meaning of vocality and physicality in a composition for an instrumental ensemble and electronics. I will also explore these qualities in the instrument/resonant body itself and how they can be extended, which in turn can inspire compositional parameters such as rhythm, form or orchestration
