Birgit Hein
Birgit Hein (born 1942 in Berlin), 1966-1988: experimental films, performances and installations with Wilhelm Hein. Co-founder of XSCREEN in Cologne in 1968. Directing films since 1991. Since 1971, numerous publications on experimental film, including Film im Underground (Berlin, 1971) and Film als Film (Stuttgart, 1977). From 1990 until 2008, professor of Film and Video at Braunschweig University of Art. Member of Akademie der Künste Berlin and Deputy Director of the Visual Arts section.
